Ventura County’s Guaranteed Ride Home

Who Qualifies: Anyone who works in Ventura County or is in a job-training program and gets to work by bus, train, carpool or vanpool.

How to register: If you work for a participating employer, they’ll have the paperwork you need to claim your ride home. If your employer does not offer Guaranteed Ride Home, urge them to do so! Click here for more program information. You may be also able to participate as an individual by contacting the Ventura County Transportation Commission, which funds and operates the program, at 1.800.438.1112 or www.goventura.org. You must be registered in the program before you can claim your ride home.

What It Offers: A free taxi or rental car ride home as often as twice a month in case of illness, child care situation, unexpected overtime, or being stranded at work should your carpool or vanpool driver have to leave due to an emergency.

How It Works: To get home, simply call one of the pre-approved taxi service or rental car providers. Then complete a voucher and present it when your ride arrives. That’s it—no payment is required.
