San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) provides commute services to employers in San Bernardino County through Inland Empire Commuter Services (IECS), a bi-county partnership with Riverside County Transportation Commission. IECS is the #1 place to go for rideshare assistance in San Bernardino County—and our services are free!

Want to find out more? Take a look at the menu of products and services here. Place a check mark in the box next to any that strike your interest.  Consultations

Getting information on-line is great, but every now and then it’s helpful to talk to a real person! When you check the box here to request a consultation, an IECS representative will contact you to set up a one-on-one meeting at your work site. You’ll get the help you need to put and keep a rideshare program in place—from expert assistance identifying which rideshare options are best for your company to answers to your questions about surveying, ridematching and meeting air district mandates.

 Training/Workshops

IECS provides continuing education for employer representatives through regular network meetings. Click the Training/Workshops box above to be added to our notification list to find out about upcoming training.

 On-Line Ridematching

CommuteSmart’s database of more than a quarter million people interested in carpooling or vanpooling is revolutionizing how employers run rideshare programs.

Now it’s a breeze to match employees with rides! Just log on and plug in an employee’s home and work location and schedule. You’ll get a list of potential carpool partners, vanpools and convenient Park & Ride lots...automatically. There’s no easier, faster way to provide on-the-spot rideshare options to your employees.

If you’ve conducted a transportation survey through IECS in the past year, the rideshare records for all your employees are already included in the regional rideshare database. As an employer, you can also use CommuteSmart’s ridematching tool to view your rideshare program records and generate useful reports.

You’ll need a user name and password before you can access your employees’ records. When you check the On-Line Ridematching box above, we’ll contact you to give you more information about CommuteSmart’s ridematching services and tell you how to sign up for our employer-only features.

Why Not Give It a Try?

To see how easy it is to get a rideshare partner using CommuteSmart’s ridematching function, just click here. Pretend you’re in the market for a carpool or vanpool. The log-in is easy. You’ll see your potential matches come up right on the screen. Then feel free to contact anyone on the list if you’re looking for a rideshare arrangement. If not, remember to delete your information or your potential matches may contact you.

 Transportation Survey Assistance

Surveying employees will give you the data you need to assist your employees in forming carpools and vanpools and determining what other rideshare services may meet the needs at your work site.

We provide survey forms (paper or electronic) and offer advice on how to conduct a survey. You’ll also receive valuable products, including RideGuides and a Density Map (see below).

If your work site has 250 or more employees, a transportation survey may be a required step toward meeting air district mandates.

 Density Map

A Density Map, which we generate based on your employee survey data, gives you a fast, visual snapshot of where your employees live so you can determine carpool, vanpool and transit opportunities. To see a sample Density Map PDF (160 KB), click here.

 RideGuides

From your survey data, we’ll create RideGuide customized commute planners for your employees who want them. These free guides give commuters carpool and vanpool matches based on where they live and work and their work schedule—plus rideshare-friendly information such as Park & Ride lot locations, a carpool lane map, details on employer incentives and more. To see a sample RideGuide PDF (764 KB), click here.

 Guaranteed Ride Home

The Guaranteed Ride Home program offers employees who share the ride to work a free rental car or taxi ride home in case of emergency or unexpected overtime. There’s no cost to your company, and you’ll get all the materials you need to administer and promote the program as a benefit to your employees.

 Events/Campaigns

Get tools to promote ridesharing at your work site. We’ll send turn-key marketing campaigns so you can participate in events such as Rideshare Week and Bike to Work Day as well as IECS campaigns throughout the year...with plenty of excitement and prizes.

 Publications

Our monthly regional newsletter CommuteSmart News and broadcast fax newsletter Rideshare Connection for the Inland Empire will keep you abreast of rideshare news and events. We also offer free brochures and other helpful guides.
