  • May 3—Guided, family-friendly 6-mile bike tour of street murals, part of the Union Station 75th anniversary celebration and National Train Day
  • May 10—"Old Roots, New Routes" group ride in Temple City
  • May 10—Prepare for Bike Week at a “Fix Your Bike Workshop”
  • May 12—Metro Bike Week LA Kick-Off at Union Station
  • May 12-18—“Bike Local” to get discounts at participating merchants

OCTA BikeShare
BikeShare allows you to check out a bike for short commutes and errands—or for longer if you choose. For a nominal fee, you can check out, ride and return bikes from kiosks located in key areas in Fullerton; OCTA will expand this program in the next two years to 15 stations.

LA “Bike Trains”
People bike to work together in a group along a select route with a lead cyclist who serves as conductor to make bicycle commuting a more fun and trouble-free experience.

Metrolink Bike Cars
While bikes are allowed on all Metrolink trains, Bike Cars can hold 18 bikes and are identified by a yellow “Bike Car” decal on the side of the train or bike train wrap.

In Orange County

  • May 4—Angels Game Day Ride and tailgate party with free food and a bike valet, Santa Ana River Bike Trail to Anaheim Stadium
  • May 7—Bike rally, Blessing of the Bicycles, prize drawings and a ride from Santa Ana Metrolink station to City Hall
  • May 15—Bike rally and 3-mile ride through Old Town Orange to celebrate Bike to Work Day
  • May 21—Ride of Silence will begin in North America and roll across the globe in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured; meet-up locations at Irvine City Hall and San Clemente North Beach
  • May 24—Bike Safety Camp in Irvine’s Pavilion Park
